"Autopay keeps messing up"
I set up autopay with Xoom Energy because, you know, that’s supposed to make life easier. I figured the bill would just get paid and I wouldn’t have to think about it every month. Apparently that was asking too much.
One month it just didn’t pull the payment like it was supposed to, and then I got stuck dealing with a late notice. That’s literally the whole reason I use autopay in the first place, so I don’t have to babysit a bill and wonder if the system is actually doing its job.
Customer service didn’t really help calm me down about it either, which just made the whole thing more annoying. I ended up turning autopay off because it’s not worth the stress if I still have to check behind it every time

"Payment works, and it mostly does the job"
i use XOOM Energy to pay my bill and it’s usually straightforward. The payment goes through fine most of the time, but it can take a bit to show up on my account, which gets kind of annoying. I haven’t had any major problems, I just wish the updates were quicker after I pay.

I emailed and called twice. Still no actual answer. Just a lot of waiting around. Customer service basically leaves you hanging

I’ve been trying to get into my account on my phone and it’s been a mess. It shouldn’t be this hard just to log in and manage my account from mobile. If there’s an issue with the app or the mobile site, the company needs to own it, explain what’s going on, and get it fixed instead of leaving customers stuck.

"Prices just didn’t really add up for me"
I looked into Xoom Energy thinking maybe I’d find a better deal, but honestly... the rates just didn’t seem that competitive. They looked higher than a few other options I was comparing, and then the extra fees kind of made it even less appealing. I mean, maybe it works out for some people depending on where they live or what plan they pick, but for me, the pricing just didn’t really make sense.

"Signing up was such a headache"
I tried to sign up with Xoom Energy the whole enrollment process was sooo confusing. The pages kept asking me for the same info over and over, and I couldn’t even tell if my signup actually went through. I ended up reaching out to support, but even then the answers weren’t super clear. Definitely not the best first impression.

At first I thought the rates were cheap, but then the extra fees start showing up and my bill was confusing every month. I never really know what I was going to pay

I had a rough time with the website. Half the time I couldn’t even log in, which got really frustrating fast. Not saying it’s a scam, but when a site gives you that much trouble just to access your account, it definitely doesn’t inspire confidence...

"Bills never seemed to add up"
I kept getting bills with charges that didn’t match what I thought I used, it got exhausting fast. I called a few different times trying to get it sorted out, but every person gave me a different explanation, so I ended up more confused than when I started.

The final straw was a bill that came in way higher than I expected. They told me it was correct, but I still don’t really understand how they got there. At some point I was just tired of chasing answers — I just wanted a clear bill, not another monthly headache.

The switch itself was easy. Updates were a bit slow though, so I ended up checking the status myself a couple times. Not a huge issue, just could’ve been clearer.

"Variable rate got ridiculous quickly"
I was on a variable-rate plan with Xoom Energy, and at first it seemed fine enough. Then my bill started jumping like it had somewhere important to be, and somehow I was just supposed to be okay with that. I called customer service hoping for an actual explanation or help, but they basically just told me rates can change, which, yes, thanks, I had noticed. I definitely should’ve switched sooner. Really not happy with the experience.

"Canceling was way more frustrating than it should’ve been"
I tried to cancel and it turned into a whole headache. I kept getting bounced around, and nobody would give me a straight answer. On top of that, the reminders were so aggressive, like constant nudges that made the whole thing feel even more annoying. It really felt like they were hoping I’d just give up and stay subscribed

I had to read through the contract a few times, and even then I wasn’t totally sure what some parts meant. Maybe it was just confusing wording, but it definitely made me wonder if there were things hidden in the details

There was some kind of billing mix-up on my account — I don’t remember the exact details now, just that it didn’t look right. I called support and after waiting a bit, they were able to fix it on that one call. Not the most exciting thing ever, but it got handled quickly and I was happy enough with how it turned out

I switched to Xoom Energy mainly because I wanted a fixed-rate plan and didn’t want to keep getting surprised by my bill. So far, it’s been good. I’m careful about what I spend each month, and having a bill that’s easier to estimate makes a big difference. Setup was simple enough, and I haven’t run into any major problems. The website could be a little easier to understand in a few spots, but overall I’m happy with it for the price.
